These courses are run in an informal manner and the free exchange of ideas and information is a very important element.
In addition, our social meetings and apiary sessions provide a great opportunity to gather and share opinions and knowledge with others - whether they are novices or have decades of experience.
Novice Course
It is strongly recommended that all new beekeepers join our annual Novice course. This not only provides fundamental knowledge of the world of bees and beekeeping, but enables the new keeper to have practical experience and support from an allocated mentor. BBKA Basic Assessment
The BBKA Basic Assessment training is aimed at beekeepers with at least one year's practical experience of beekeeping. For more information, please click here
